Tucked away next to Friedrichstrasse Station, the Palace of Tears was originally a border crossing-point between East Germany and West Berlin, and was so named because it was the scene of so many painful farewells. Today the former departure hall is a moving museum that uses film, interviews and other material to provide a powerful insight into daily life in a divided city.
