Beautiful beaches

Chunky palm trees and manicured lawns give the seafront promenade a lush feel. Along this stretch, you’ll find Nea Makri’s main sandy beach, as well as Marathon Beach a little further along. Keep going up the coast to discover the Blue Flag beach of Brexiza, a much-loved spot that’s usually busy during summer.

Settle into the go-slow pace of life here in Nea Makri. Along the promenade and around the harbour you’ll find lots of traditional tavernas and waterfront restaurants for chilled-out suppers under the stars. Feta-topped salads, fried shrimp and grilled octopus are on most menus, but you’ll also find pizzerias, cafés and bakeries for laidback lunches.
