El Cotillo holidays

Tranquil beaches, delectable food joints and sensational sunsets make this traditional fishing village a holiday haven. The resort used to pull in the pirates but, these days, entices keen surfers to the clear swells of the unpopulated beaches. You’ll find culture by the bucketloads at the Artisan Market and Castillo del Tostón.

At your leisure

Nestled over in northern Fuerteventura, El Cotillo’s great for beachside lounging and catching the waves. Surfing’s big round here, so don’t miss a trick. Depending on the weather, you’ll get gentle swells or choppier seas, but this lengthy stretch of coastline goes on for miles regardless.

Keep it simple

Packing in rustic charm aplenty, a pretty harbour, jagged coves and sublime cliffs, El Cotillo’s a magnet for all things picturesque. Head to the little fishing museum for a browse, mingle around markets and shops, and sip your favourite cold ones in the local bars. There’s something for everyone.
