St. Andrew's Monastery and Museum

Founded as a nunnery in 1579, the Monastery of Agios Andreas is one of the most important pilgrimage sites on the island. It is so important as it houses the foot of the apostle Andrew. A museum opened here in 2002 to exhibit wood carvings, icons and frescoes from all over Kefalonia.
