The Makronissos Tombs weren’t rediscovered until the 1970s and this ancient burial site was only fully excavated in early 1990, so is a recent addition to Cyprus’ history circuit. There are 19 tombs and a small sanctuary, but if you are interested in the history then read up beforehand as there are no guides or tours.
