The wharf and breakwater pier was designed to protect the fishermen’s boats was built as part of an ambitious shipping canal project that was never executed. On the rocks at the head of the pier sits a statue - El Moll. It's the work of Ramon Ferran and was erected in 1990 to represent the town's nautical past.
