La Pilona is the little platform out in the sea in front of the promenade that was used as a dock in the 1900's for ships picking up iron ore, transported there from the mines by cable car. Swim out - or hire a pedalo and go snorkelling - it's a great place to spot lots of fishes and black sea urchins.
