When Ava Gardner came to Tossa in 1950 to film 'Pandora and the Flying Dutchman', she fell in love with the town's beauty and soon won the hearts of the locals. In 1998 sculptor Ció Abellí unveiled a statue in a stunning spot on the Vila Vella of the beloved actress as Pandora, looking longingly out to sea.
