Loggia del Papa

Loggia del Papa is a fine example of 15th-century Renaissance architecture. A loggia is a covered gallery or corridor usually on an upper level but, as in this case, sometimes at ground level. The open-air arcade was commissioned by Pope Pius II in honour of his family and features the Piccolomini family heraldry.
