Thanks to its sun-soaked climes, this part of the Peloponnese has plenty of homegrown goodness. Koroneiki olives and extra virgin olive oil is popular around these parts and good enough to rival the world-famous Kalamata olives that are from the neighbouring city. Sample them on top of a Greek salad, drizzled in oil.

The cool city of Kalamata is around an hour’s drive away and is the second-largest city in this region of Greece. Famed for its olives, it’s no surprise this bustling spot is a real hit with foodies, but there are plenty of opportunities for shopping, sightseeing and nightlife too.
