Valldemossa

Set in the wowing Tramuntana mountain range, this traditional Majorcan village is awash with quaint, sand-coloured architecture and pretty white buds, sandwiched between vibrant greenery. It’s a treat for photographers, with plenty of history and scenery to add the cherry on top of this west-coast hideout.

Pieces of the past

This religious retreat is particularly well known for its 13th-century monastery, La Cartuja. This enchanting building houses various cells, a Chopin museum as a nod to the composer who was believed to stay there, and there’s a palace just by it. Valldemossa is also one for celebratory festivals, so get ready to join in.

Pebbles and Palma

In the resort centre, you’ll find various eateries for local bites, seafood, coffee and cake, plus cobbled walkways to meander around. If you’d prefer to get out and about, hit the pebbly beach nearby or embark on a hike or cycle.
