One of Monte Carlo’s most iconic attractions is its opulent casino. It was built in the 1860s and has been an icon of entertainment ever since. As well as being a gambling paradise, it has a Grand Théâtre and is home to Les Ballets de Monte Carlo. With an ornate square right outside, it’s well worth a visit, even if you just take some snaps while sipping a cocktail at the Café de Paris next door.
When you’re not eyeing up the superyachts, sashaying around the boutiques (hello Chanel, Hermès and friends…) or dining with the stars at Nobu, you could hit the beach. Monte Carlo is home to Monaco’s only stretch of sand, Larvotto Beach, where you can enjoy jet-skiing, windsurfing and volleyball. Or if you’ve got the dosh, swing by the Fairmont Hotel’s exclusive beach club. Ooh la la…
Another one of the top things to in Monte Carlo is walk a large part of the F1 track. Not only will you work off all that fine French food and fizz, you’ll tick off Monte Carlo’s main attractions while you’re at it. The casino, the port, the five-star hotels, the swanky boutiques – basically everything you see them whizz past on the TV!
