Ile de la cite

Ile de la cite

This small island in the middle of the Seine was the original city of Paris. Few first-time visitors realise that the famous cathedral of Notre-Dame is actually situated on the island, as is royal chapel Sainte-Chapelle. The area is particularly pretty in spring when the trees by the cathedral are in full bloom.
