This marvellous Maltese town is one of the oldest on the island, with ancient remains dating all the way back to the Bronze Age. Palaces, churches, towers and windmills make up its centre while many open green spaces can be found in its suburbs. You’re in a prime spot for exploring some of the island’s top sights too, with the renowned Blue Grotto less than a ten-minute drive away!
There are lots of well-signposted paths and routes throughout the town that will lead you to the top attractions. Start in the main square then walk the perimeter of the town, taking in the baroque-style parish church and flower-filled gardens along the way. You could spend hours getting lost in the quaint side streets too!
If nightlife’s your bag, then why not spend an evening in the capital, which is only a 25-minute drive away? Valletta’s streets are teeming with pavement café-bars and charming restaurants, so you can grab a bite to eat then hit up a rooftop cocktail bar for sunset views over the skyline. If you’re more into cosy vibes, then try out the wine bars and pubs instead.
