Pitch up at the beaches – there’s a mix of dark sand and pebbles across 25km of sublime Spanish coast. The wide Paseo Marítimo promenade runs alongside the water, with a string of bars and restaurants dotted along its length boasting front-row tickets to opulent ocean views. It’s the ideal place to soak up some sun on a Marbella holiday.
Casco Antiguo’s quaint old quarter showcases cafés on leafy squares, surrounded by 10th century Moorish walls. Take the kids to discover the area’s local history at the Roman ruins in San Pedro. Or, for something a little livelier, Funny Hill has a go-karting track, trampolines and an arcade – perfect for a family holiday to Marbella.
At night, make your way to the stylish Golden Mile and see why the rich and famous flock to these shores. There are family-friendly bars and restaurants where kids are welcome and parents can take it easy. If you’re looking for clubs, some of the world’s most famous spots conquer this strip.
Marbella, Costa del Sol
An oasis of tranquillity, Alameda Park is festooned with tropical plants, palm trees, fountains and colourful tiled seats. It has lots of shaded areas if you want to get out of the sun for a while, and is flanked with bars and restaurants. From here you can book a horse and carriage ride to see Marbella in style.

Get some culture on your way to the beach with a stroll down Avenida del Mar. The street has been transformed into an open air sculpture garden featuring works by Spanish artists Salvador Dali and Eduardo Soriano among the flora and fauna. There are plenty of cafés and bars nearby so pull up a seat and enjoy the view.

In June, a riot of colour hits Marbella Old Town as it comes alive with flamenco costumes and music. Everyone - including dogs - dons traditional Spanish dress, and food stalls are decorated with colourful garlands. Restaurants host special flamenco dance nights, giving you a truly authentic taste of Spain.
