History-stuffed Dubrovnik – with its magnificent marbled alleyways and olde worlde charm – is just a stone’s throw from Mlini, so be sure to carve out some days for exploring. From here, you can even ‘hop’ on a boat trip to Lokrum Island, where you might spy wild rabbits and roaming peacocks! It’s magical and then some.
Mlini is a handful of sun-bleached stone buildings cradled between a steep mountain and the Adriatic Sea. It’s a sleepy, traditional kind of place, with a few restaurants crowded around the palm-lined harbour. In the woods outside the village, you’ll wander past natural springs, once used to power the mills.
Mlini’s great for beaches – the waterfront is studded with pretty, pebbly coves. If you feel like a change of scene, you can zoom over to Cavtat on the ferry in ten minutes, or head out to the Elaphiti Islands. They lay claim to some of the best sand in the region.
Mlini, Dubrovnik Coast
Dine on tasty fresh seafood in the traditional stone-built restaurants called konobas that line Mlini's seaside promenade, like the popular Konuba Lanterna. The cafés and restaurants here stay open till late during the summer and offer mostly typical Dalmatian cuisine and Italian favourites.
Mlini, Dubrovnik Coast
Escape the crowds and relax on the peaceful, shallow pebble beaches and hidden coves of idyllic Milni. The serene clear blue seas are ideal for swimming and snorkelling and you're just a short stroll from restaurants serving fresh grilled fish and delicious wine when you need a break from the sun.
Mlini, Dubrovnik Coast
Picture-perfect Milni was named after the water mills that were once abundant along the banks of the village's beautiful Zavrelje River. Although no longer in use, some are the mills are still standing today and, along with the resident ducks, they make for an idyllic photo opportunity.
