In Ialyssos, everything revolves around the beach. It’s a long, flat stretch of sand mixed with shingle, and it’s a serious hit with windsurfers as well as laid-back sun-seekers. In the background, a cluster of traditional Greek tavernas rub shoulders with the many chic bars and modern restaurants.
Ialyssos is just a ten-minute drive from Rhodes Town, one of the world’s most impressively preserved medieval cities. Inside its walls, you can follow the footsteps of the Knights Templar at the Palace of the Grand Master, or tuck into some tasty cuisine in one of the smart cafés around the harbour.
Ialyssos, Rhodes
Ialyssos is a beautiful beach on the north coast of Rhodes, just eight kilometres from the town. Facilities include sun loungers, umbrellas, showers and cafes, and the almost constant breeze from the north provides excellent conditions for wind and kite surfing.
Ialyssos, Rhodes
Located on the north coast of Rhodes – Greece’s sunniest island – Ialyssos beach has an almost constant breeze, making it a great spot for surfing. At the two surf clubs, Procenter and JP/Neil Pryde Windsurf Centre, pros and beginners alike will be provided with state-of-the-art equipment and guided by a friendly team.
Ialyssos, Rhodes
Ialyssos was one of the three earliest city-states in Rhodes. Although little remains of this ancient settlement today, it is still an interesting place to visit near Rhodes town, Ixia and Trianda. Discover temple foundations and the remains of the incredible Doric fountain-house, as well as stunning views over the Aegean sea.
