It’s a rocky coastline so expect rocky beaches. Perfect for families, Brulo beach, south of Poreč, is well-serviced with showers, toilets and catering. Part-paved for sunbathing, the beach is surrounded by pines, cypress trees and oaks. Couples may prefer the slightly quieter Zelena Laguna.
Rich tradition, stunning buildings and exciting venues, Poreč suits all kinds of holiday makers. Culture lovers come to see the old town with its UNESCO World Heritage-protected basilica, restaurants and live music scene, while families seek the water sports and rocky beaches.
Porec, Pula and Istrian Coast
This impressive UNESCO World-Heritage Site is one of Poreč’s most popular attractions. Built in the sixth century, the stunning church boasts beautiful gold mosaics. Next door you’ll find the Bishop’s Palace which is now a museum, with a tower you can climb up for great views across the city.
Porec, Pula and Istrian Coast
It’s impossible not to enjoy a slow wander through the history-steeped streets of Poreč’s Old Town. This UNESCO site, inhabited for 2,000 years, was once a Roman settlement. Its ancient cobbled streets are now home to preserved monuments, small artisan shops and plenty of places to eat.
Porec, Pula and Istrian Coast
This Jurassic-themed park is around 15 minutes away, in Vrsar. It tells the story of the world’s ancient past in a way that engages children and adults alike. All you need to do is follow the wooden boardwalks for a journey past life-sized dinosaurs, and through thick forest and a rocky gorge landscape.
