Hotel Caribe - PortAventura World

We have been back here 5 times and it always meets expectations. Great staff, food is great, place is clean and well kept. Will be back again for sure. Can not fault the hotel and Jet2.com holidays. Always a pleasure and a hassle free holiday.

Arrived at the hotel at lunchtime to be told we couldn't get into our room until 3 pm, so wasn't the best start. The rooms were very basic and not sound proof at all, we could hear everything either side of us and above, unlucky for us groups of Spanish school children arrived and it was over-run with children running around and just taking over the complex, the features at the hotel are lovely, lovely pools/sandy little beach, play park but with the above mentioned it just spoilt it for us which was a shame, more like a holiday camp, please also note no shops close by either.

As our 4th time here the hotel was as good as usual. Always clean nice friendly staff and great value for money. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great holiday in the sun with the benefit of park and water park tickets included.

Been to Salou many times. Location excellent for theme park But would not recommend hotel for families that want entertainment, be prepared to entertain kids during day yourself or go to theme park. No balls or inflatables allowed in pools

Rooms were clean and tidy , Food was good , place is beautiful But for children , there is very little entertainment in evening , a Spanish disco which was on for less than an hour , there was no activities round the pool , kids weren't allowed rubber rings or big floats , There was no music or atmosphere at night. Very little to do in the evening after dinner and not all wants to trip around the theme park again with children or take a taxi into solou. Also reception staff could be better mannered , very slow and long ques ... I wouldn't give it the 4star rating it has. Sadly wouldn't return with my children

First hotel I have been to where you were not allowed inflatables or balls in the pools!! no diving or splashing to me that's what makes a childs holiday playing in the pool staff at hotel were friendly

a beautiful hotel with own private beach area and a lovely pool in the middle of the complex. Betty Boop came down every day Food very good it was fresh and a good variety to suit all ages What I like very close to PortAventura theme park a shuttle bus every 10 minutes .

Don't try and do everything at once as the weather is hot and humid some days take mosquito repellent with you can ask at reception for a repellent adaptor for 10 euro deposit which you get back after returning plug

First the negatives. Asked for adjoining rooms as we had two children under two, didn't get them but were told they were next to each other - they were next door but one. Other reviews are correct in that the room walls are paper thin - I could hear one of the children crying during the night so the people in the middle must have been overjoyed! Having seen the queues, I can understand other reviews regarding the length of time to check but we were lucky with no mass arrivals at the time. It's definitely not four star, but it was clean and the staff were brilliant. I challenge anyone not to find food which suited them, given the vast array of choice at breakfast and dinner. They could bring the dinner slot forward a bit as 7pm start when children are almost ready for bed is not ideal. Portaventura theme park a 10 minute walk or there is transport, but be warned, there are almost no rides for very small children so think twice about booking tickets for your full stay. Overall, enjoyable break, but wouldn't stay again for reasons outlined above.

I have stayed at this hotel before in 2014 and encountered the same problems with the check in. We were the only couple dropped off at the hotel but ended up queuing at check in. The delay was appalling and unnessesary, having travelled from the U.K. the last thing we needed was a 60 minute wait just to check in to the hotel. Plenty of staff milling around, but only one to check in guests, it spoilt the start of the holiday. Aside from this perennial issue, its a wonderful place to stay

My daughter and I had a fantastic holiday at this resort. The hotel itself is lovely and clean, and the rooms are fab! The staff are friendly and very helpful. The food was amazing, with different choices every day. I am vegetarian and had great meals daily, my daughter eats meat and loved every meal. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk to Port Aventura theme park (or the shuttle bus, every 15 mins) Also in walking distance to the supermarket in Salou (do this- a small bottle of Coca Cola is around 3euros in the park/hotel....only 85cents at the supermarket!) The only small downside was the lack of anything going on around the pool/fake beach- no music or anything which made the time quite boring, but I suppose its perfect for those wanting a break from the mayhem of the theme park. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
