Cerro Mar Atlantic Apartments

Fantastic location near the old town BUT beware there are about 100 steep steps that lead you down to the old town .... BUT a Taxi back only costs about 4 euro and saves you the walk back ....especially if your not very good on your feet or disabled ...There is a hotel shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up every hour PLEASE check the times at reception ...... GREAT Service and food .... Only downside was the toaster ...It only had the heating elements on the bottom working ..... None of the top elements were working so you had to put the bread through about 6 times ...turning it over .... They really need to sort this problem out as when I 1st used the toaster I had already got my breakfast and it went cold by the time my toast was ready. Another problem that I noticed was the omelettes ....The label said Omelette with Cheese ? When i cut it in half I noticed it had Ham in it ....Not a problem for me BUT if you are vegetarian then that is not good. Those were the only 2 faults during our stay ....The TV in the room is very small BUT your there to have some sun and not watch TV ..... There is a great little shop next to the hotel and it sells nice wines Beers etc. Aldi & Lidl are about a 10 min walk ....Ask at reception for directions The Kitchen in our room was simple amazing ...Full size fridge with a freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Ironing board and the pots and pans & cutlery were of a very high quality. You will not be disappointed

Clean comfortable apartment with everything you need & more , but the location is at the very top of an extremely steep hill , 98 steep steps down to the old town , the old town is a bit grubby in places quite a lot of graffiti , but once you get there the choice of bars shops & restaurants is very impressive. The beach is clean and smooth sand , lots of sunbeds available.

Having expected to stay in an apartment block facing the main hotel (where we'd stayed using private lets previously) we were surprised to find ourselves in a block just above the hotel. We prefer self catering and were delighted to be allocated a very spacious one bedroom apartment with a large separate kitchen, very large lounge & two sizeable balconies. Basic but comfy and well equipped the apartment had views over the town & sea from the main balcony & the local hills, and some sea, from the bedroom balcony. The arrangement offers the best of both hotel & self catering - the hotel's facilities (Spa, Pool, Restaurant) are all available, there's daily housekeeping (everything was clean & tidy) & a shuttle bus service for those not wishing to use the nearby steep steps leading down into old town's main square. We arrived home impressed with both the accommodation, service & the holiday; provided at a great price by Jet2 holidays. Highly recommended.. Staff were friendly & helpful and

Great Hotel, Got a fab apartment better than expected, cleaned each day and some beautiful views. it is base on a steep hill so can be hard in the heat but great location for the old town which is about 5 minutes away via the steps. Would stay again.

Excellent place for families to visit, plenty of pools, always sunbeds available as plenty on offer. Very pleasant staff at bars etc. Rooms and surroundings always spotlessly clean. Only a 10 minute walk to Old Town, where there's plenty of bars and restaurants, but you do have to encounter 90 steps, so probably not great if you have walking difficulties. We were a party of 8 adults and 9 children ranging from 5 years to 13 years, and all enjoyed very much.

Apartments are in a fantastic location, be aware there are a lot of steps down to the old town. The apartment was one of the best we've stayed in, roomy and clean. The only downside was the people reserving sunbeds around the pool when supposedly they aren't allowed. Hotel do nothing about this. We never managed to get around the pool for the whole of our stay. Other than that these are fantastic apartments.

Had a lovely short break away with my hubby and were really surprised and thrilled with the standard, quality and cleanliness of Cerro Mar! The location was super and having the Old Town so close by was fantastic. Even though we went at a quieter time of the year, the atmosphere was lovely and the weather was beautiful! Can't wait to go back!

The apartments were fantastic and had everything in to enable us to enjoy a self-catering holiday. The rooms were modern and spacious and the kitchen had fantastic utilities to use. Couldn't fault anything. They were ideally placed for us but anyone with mobility issues would have to get a taxi down to the main square instead of using the stairs which were about 200 metres down the street from the apartment. There were about 99 (if i remember rightly) and certainly took it out of you at the end of the night. Having said that i wouldn't hesitate to book there again but would ask for the Cerro Mar Atlantico and not the garden block because according to other people those apartments had not be updated like ours.

Good views and location but not suitable for disabled or older people as there are about 100 steps and a steep hill up to it. Would have preferred to be in the newer block which we would have paid extra for but these weren't available to jet2 holiday customers

Great hotel, staff are so friendly (special mention for Maria who works the poolside bar). Very clean too. Beds are a trifle hard mind. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill but there is a courtesy bus up and down until 5.30 pm and then it is only 4euros in a taxi. The pools are fabulous although my hubby thought they were a bit cold, for me they were perfect and there is a warmer indoor one. We were impressed by the bar prices, only 2.5 euros for a large beer which was cheaper than some of the bars in the town. Theres a great bar in the town called The Cavern - shows all the footie and serves English beer. \just off the square at the bottom, to the left. For breakfast try Zanzi 1 and 2, only 4.5 euros, terrific value!! Aldi is round the corner from the hotel but its a bit of a trek, up and down hills, bit hard if your carrying bottles etc. Took us about 20 minutes to walk there. Go out of the hotel, turn left then right and keep going. \the weather was perfect!! lovely and warm. The apartments are superb and very well fitted. Like I said before, the beds are a trifle hard though. all in all a really good hotel and well recommended

Very clean apartments but in need of an update. Very good choice of swimming pools with stunning views over Albufeira. Staff at reception very helpful. At the top of a steep hill and about 100 steps down to the square,bars and shops. A shuttle bus from the hotel down to the beach and town runs from 10am to 5pm each day ! We had a lovely holiday we would stay here again but in the Cerro Mar Gardens with more modern apartments !

Lovely clean apartment very spacious large balcony with sea view with modern well equipped kitchen. Pool with swim up bar was great! Location near to old town about 10 min walk down 100 steps (so you will need to be fit to walk back up) lots of restaurants to choose from once there. Beach is about 15 min walk. There is also a Aldi and Lidle if you are self catering to buy groceries and water which was cheaper to buy from Than the little supermarket opposite the appartments. We had a fabulous time and would definitely return.

would recommend this hotel if you are fit, Lovely hotel and very friendly and helpful staff, But you have to be able to walk up and down a lot of stairs to get to the old town centre, We enjoyed the walk and because this hotel is up at the top of a hill it tends to be a bit quieter, You are able to get a taxi (around 5 euro) and hotel provides a minibus a few times a day but we never used the bus,
