AR Diamante Beach & Spa

The hotel is located to a 2 minute walk to promenade of Calpe, the hotel reception and lobby is huge an airy. The hotel cleaning staff do a great job and it smelled good every where we went! Rooms are clean and well maintained and fitted with clean water hire linen sheets and towels. Has a nice v with small selection of channels which is handy if you want to watch something in the late evening , hairdryer in bathroom and free safe didn't have iron. Restaurant offers a wide choice and variety of suitable food. The staff were very nice and polit. No pool attendant we visited the last week of May (half term) I thought it was good value for money. The coach transfer took a while so if you're impatient you can get private transfer. The package was very good considering we had a free child place £680 per adult for one week ! Would recommend and visit again

Very impressed with this Hotel, nothing was to much trouble. Rooms very clean, food was excellent. Staff looked after us well, top marks to them. We on our way out of the hotel left a backpack in the foyer, the staff found it and arranged for it to be collected by a courier company in Alicante , 3 days later it arrived home. Very Impressed with the staff. Will be returning next year.

Hotel itself was very good and catered for most of our needs. We changed rooms as we were not happy with the one allocated which was on the main road but this was done with little fuss although they were going to charge us £50 for cleaning the room allocated even though we had only walked in and out of it. Food was the main problem at the hotel. When it was available it was nice but it was obvious that there was a shortage of staff in the catering department. When items were available you had to be quick otherwise you missed out and had to wait for the next batch which could be about 20 minutes later. There were a lot of children in the restaurant with their families but they were seated in the better end where tables had tablecloths. Normal guests had to make do with a paper placemat. On occasions especially at the weekend there was a que to enter the restaurant and although this didn't affect us there were many who had to wait. Bar is good, prices are in line with local bars and the snack we had was delivered quickly and was still hot. It would have been helpful if you could open an account to charge wines, drinks and bar snacks to and then pay on the last day instead of pay as you go. Also on departure some guests were given a breakfast carry-out. We were unaware that this could be ordered so had to wait until arrival at the airport to have breakfast. We were unable to find access to the indoor pool although we didn't wish to use it - were just curious as to what it was like. Maybe access was through the Spa! Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to ask a member of staff on the day we were looking for it as there was a large que at the reception. Outside pool was good with plenty of sunbeds.

Room was good, good size and cleaned daily. On a cycling holiday with a large group, despite hotel being advertised as cycling friendly the bike storage arrangements were vague so we kept ours in the room on the balcony which was OK, but had to wait and wait sometimes for the lift. Breakfast was good, but evening meal was disappointing, not much main meal selection and some random offerings. Restaurant staff were not helpful at all. No contact from Jet2. Not delayed but we arrived late and no mention of any refreshment or food despite paying for half board.

Hotel was clean , staff mostly friendly and welcoming although the restaurant staff were not very friendly or helpful and the food in the restaurant was very average and not much choice we went there when they were not at full capacity and the choices were poor.

On the whole not a bad hotel. Reception bar was unfriendly and unresponsive to English guests. Despite having a number of English children all activities were conducted in Spanish and when we jokingly asked if we could join in, the reply was I am not sure - outrageous. Not for bits without Spanish.

Just back from a 9 night stay. It was excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Accommodation clean spacious and of a very high standard. Food varied and very tasty buffet style for each meal. Excellent location 5 min walk to beach..easy access to public transport. Entertainment very much aimed towards families but not unpleasant. Overall fabulous trip and would highly recommend.

Lots of cyclist use this hotel. You can take you bikes up in the lift and store in your room. Next door is a bike hire shop for quality road bikes but many people take their own. The food in the restaurant is pretty good with plenty of choice. If you want a kettle for your room speak to reception. Big supermarket across the road for all those extras and all important bottles of water. The SPA is very expensive - 20 euros for one hour. You can use the heated swimming pool across the road at their sister hotel for about 3 euros if there is space. We went in March and no problems getting access to the pool. Also plenty of places to park in streets behind hotel during the time we were there.

if you do not know the language,aviod it like the plague all entertainment in spanish,kids clubs in spanish waiting staff ignorant.... unless tour spanish if you are not spanish you are classed as 2nd class citizens would definatley not return to this hotel...there is no free water even at meal times and if you leave early even with children you are not even offered a drrink of water before you leave kids aged 5 and 6 were offered nothing and had nothing to eat from 8pm until 12 pm the following day which we purchased at the airport

I spent a week at the hotel with my husband, 2 year old and my friend. The hotel was lovely very modern and clean. The beds were comfy had a good night sleep. Only problem we had was the season didn't start until end of June so there were no entertainment whatsoever. The main bar wasn't open in an evening, no music, nothing so made our trip very boring. The food was nice especially breakfast really good but evening meal was very Spanish so not Much for little one. Area outside of hotel is nice 2 mins from beach

Excellent hotel, spotlessly clean. Great location and a room with a large balcony overlooking the sea. Food choices were very good with variety. Staff were all polite and friendly. I would stay here again without any hesitation.

The hotel was really wonderful but the food was terrible and really spoiled our holiday at the end of ten days we were really disappointed !! And wouldn't go there again sorry.the hotel and rooms were exceptional really beautiful.we stayed at the esmeralda in Calpe last year and the food was better there.

The hotel was beautiful, everything was clean and the decor was tasteful , the rooms are excellent and cleaned daily. The food was delicious, the only thing was it was often not hot enough for me. We were HB and the drink measure at the evening meal was very stingy, less than half a glass! The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Beautiful hotel short walk to beach,pool very inviting but hard to get a decent spot after 10 o clock in the morning ,choice of food was the best i have experienced and very helpful staff , it is a bit hectic sometimes getting the lift especially at meal times .The views from the rooms are amazing front or back ,nothing is too much trouble if you have a problem with your room .It was also nice to have a couple of english channels on the TV in our room .The only downside we had was the wi fi was off all the time during our 10 day stay and there didn't seem any urgency to get it back on which sent my 2 daughters insane had to rely on local bars etc . My family love Calpe and this hotel ticked all the boxes and more would definitely return
