Albir Playa Hotel & Spa

This is the 3rd time I've stayed in this hoteI, the Iast time being June 2016. SadIy, the standards have decIined since my Iast visit. The staff are as heIpfuI and friendIy as they aIways were, however, the food at breakfast, both in terms of choice and quaIity has deteriorated, to the point where we decided not to eat other meaIs in the buffet restaurant. The evening entertainment, on 3 nights during our stay, was extremeIy poor, so the evening bar was aInost aIways empty and we were often the onIy ones in. The pooI bar/restaurant opened on one day onIy during our visit so it was necessary to either get dressed and eat in the restaurant or Ieave the hoteI to get Iunch eIsewhere. The bedroom and bathroom were spotIessIy cIean, however, the mattress was so hard it was Iike sIeeping on the fIoor and we both woke up with back ache every morning. AII in aII, whist we enjoyed our hoIiday, we wiII give this hoteI a miss on future visits

Overall a very clean and modern looking hotel. Comfortable rooms. Above average food quality and presentation. Be aware the air conditioning is not on all year round but is at the discretion of the management. A bit of a walk to local hostelries.

We are a couple in our 40's, with no children, and have stayed at the Albir Playa Hotel four times on a Bed and Breakfast basis. The hotel is in a good location, a 15 minute stroll to the beach front, only 5 minutes to cafes and restaurants. The hotel is modern and clean and the rooms are a good size with mini fridge and hairdryer. There are no hot drink making facilities in the room which is probably my only moan. The clientel is mainly nordic and sporty outdoorsy people (lots of cyclists) The spa looks amazing (not used it) but have used the facilities for showering on the last day as the hotel is normally fully booked and you cant get a late room. The pool area is lovely and relaxing with a pool bar and nice food, we are beach people but enjoy sitting by the pool after a day on beach. The beach by the way is normally breezy, strong waves and it is pebbly so not really suitable for children. Albir itself is delightful, nice shops, restaurants and people. Lovely nice 40 minute walk to Altea or beautiful walk to the lighthouse along the rugged coastline and half an hour if you want the madness (and great shopping and beach) of Benidorm. We love it.

I had a great week at the hotel, the spa was great. The food was excellent, the room were clean and roomy plenty of space. The bar was good. Hotel just just off the edge of town but its just a short walk.

This hotel is located at the start of Albir, near bus stops, supermarkets and an easy 10 minute stroll to the lovely promenade.Although the hotel is rated 4 star, I think it more a good 3 star. The food was good but repetitive. It was, however, warm which is a bonus with a buffet.The room was nice. It had a sofa bed and an armchair both badly in need of reupholstering not least because of the staining of the fabric.Housekeeping was OK but in the 10 days we stayed the balcony wasn't swept, the television not dusted, the glass in the bathroom not washed and the floor not properly swept. On the first day, a strand of mop got caught under the chair leg and even although it was perfectly obvious it was still there when we left.On the plus side we were given a kettle when we asked about hiring one and the staff were always b=very pleasant.We were in room 427 which had a fabulous big balcony with mountain views on one side and the street on the other.

Magnificent hotel but the food could have .been better it was often overcooked and not very hot Maybe because it was buffet style which I was not expecting from a ,4 star. You were not allowed to take drinks from the bar to the restaurant and vice versa. The staff were very very good and very friendly If I had realizes the Hotel was surrounded by Mountains I would have chosen else where

We arrived to a very warm and helpful welcome.We booked deluxe. Meant free safe all week and mini fridge topped up every day (only soft drinks though). Bottle of cava in the evening. We only booked bed and breakfast.Breakfast had a vast array of different choices every day including cava. We only ate one evening in restaurant as we thought it was quite expensive and it was only a buffet.Staff were amazing thought the whole hotel and made us feel so welcome.Pool was good. Little on the chilly side.Spa was an amazing experience. Recommend.Parking under hotel was quite expensive but plenty on the streets.Hotel location is in the heart of Albir with shops and restaurants around. The beach was about a 20 minute walk.Entertainment was very poor in the evening. One evening was flamenco dancing. This was very good but lasted 30 minutes.

Great place, only stayed as b&b but only got breakfast once in the hotel, wasn’t fussed on it although there are plenty of local places with great food e.g THE GRILL and THE STONE GRILL. Pool was great at hotel and drinks good price

could not fault the decor of the hotel. The pool was overrun by kids and the hotel encouraged this. At night the very little entertainment there was was all mainly for kids. The hotel could have laid on some for adults. The food in the restaurant was very poor quality. We were very disappointed and will not return although we holiday several times a year in Benidorm to four star hotels like the Don Pancho and Riviera Beach.

Lovely hotel, good view, lovely n efficient staff, good enough food, good location. We arrived abt 11pm and restaurant staff stayed on to welcome us and let us know they left us dinner. We didn't expect that. So, thank you v v much. Keep up the good work. Really nice and quiet and allows us to hv a good sleep after a tiring day of exploring places.

Very nice hotel clean and friendly . Food nice and bar staff very pleasant room very clean . No problems at all . Nothing more to say . Hotel and resort suitable for all ages. All tastes catered for nothing too much trouble
