Hotel Villa Maria

We booked this at the last minute so did not have a great deal of selection left when it came to availability. Having said that we were extremely happy with this hotel . We were upgraded to a room with a large balcony /terrace because the hotel was not full on the week we went . The staff are all lovely and helpful and we loved the selection of food in the dining room . Yes the hotel is situated a good twenty minute walk from Desenzano but if you like to go for a walk on an evening there is a village about 5 minutes away with bars and shops . Also if you walk down to the lake from this village there is a bar which often has live music playing. There is a bus outside the hotel which will take you into the main resort for 1euro if its too hot to walk and a supermarket a few minutes away for your water and lunchtime snacks. Some of the people in the hotel had been on previous occasions ,which tells you something ! we will return to Lake Garda but will try further north as we did not have time to fit everything in ,in 1 week.

Had the most relaxing holiday, hotel was clean with very friendly staff, it was about a 20 minute walk to the centre where the shops and restaurants were food was good and reasonably priced. Overall an excellent holiday. 😊

Lovely hotel, pleasant staff and a short walk from the Lake. Our room had a lovely view over the lake and mountains. ~The grounds are extensive and they and the swimming pool area were very well maintained.

Just out of the main town easy walking distance even nicer along the waters edge . The hotel pool was relaxing plenty of sun beds just so peaceful ........ what more can you ask for Food and deserts great selection Beds rooms so roomy

Excellent reception area with comfy chairs and TV. Booked in by welcoming staff without problem. Room was large with large bed and Mrs Shackleton arm chair. Bathroom a good size with shower cubicle and good shower with good towels. Towels changed on request with bed linen changed every 3/4 days. TV provided with 2 English language and Eurosport Channels. Whenever I watched Eurosport was not in English and the other 2 channel pictures were not good enough to watch for very long - maybe the Communication mast on the roof was the culprit. Breakfast was served in an excellent room with an excellent choice of food and drink. Hot drinks were self service from a machine but if you wished you could ask the excellent and friendly staff and they would serve you - from a different machine. in the lovely grounds was a large swimming pool with childrens area attached and pool bar. the sunbeds were of good quality and towels were provided by the hotel at a small extra charge. There is a tennis court and games room. Our only problem was that most mornings were disturbed from 7:00am by the water noises from the adjoining room - much too early for us to get up!
