Kalamaki Beach Hotel

Hotel very clean. Staff always polite, friendly and very helpful. Food excellent too. Some bedrooms are a little dated but otherwise a fabulous hotel that I wouldn’t hesitate to stay in again . The beach bar has an excellent choice of menu and Nikos is always on hand to surpervise and keep every safe and happy

We stayed at the Kalamaki Beach Hotel for 2 weeks in July 2019. We booked through Jet2 holidays and paid above the average prices for a hotel with good facilities. The hotel itself is very good and in an ideal location. However, I have a major issue with the hotel charging £8 per day for air conditioning, £3 per day for a safe deposit box and £4 per day for use of the fridge (the fridge is locked yet still plugged into the electric using energy - the fee is just a money making exercise). So having paid over the odds to Jet2 you are immediately faced with £210 extra fees on check in + of course the £1.50 per day tourist tax. This gripe is at Jet2, not the hotel as if Jet2 were paying the proper rates to the hotel then we tourists would not have to suffer these extra fees. Beware when booking Jet2 holidays about the add on fees made by the hotels they use

Room with a view over the mountains/sea what more can you want when waking up . The staff were very friendly especially at the pool bar and restaurant on the beach. The room was spotless and the gardens around the hotel were beautiful, gardeners working every day. We will be back again soon!

On arrival at the hotel we were shown a room that was, at best, very, very poor. We refused this and were offered another room which we accepted. This was much better but was still fairly basic and unlike the rooms shown in the photographs. The bathroom was tiny. What the advertising material does not disclose is the additional charges. Although wi-fi is free in the communal areas it has to be paid for if it is used in the rooms; if you want to use the room safe the charge is 3 euros per day; 4 euros per day is charged if you want to use the room fridge (in our case this meant removing the padlock on the door; 8 euros per day is charged if you want to use the rooms air conditioning.
