Alkmini Apartments

Lovely place. Mike was very helpful and accommodating, as was his family. Lovely food which was as good as any local restaurant at a reasonable price. The place was full of returnee holiday guests, who have returned year after year. That tells you something about the place. Room was not suitable to use the electric stove as there was no socket. Balcony was south facing and too hot to sit on during the day. No shade. Apart from that, an enjoyable stay.

This is such a friendly place to stay. The rooms are basic, but clean. Bins emptied and towels replaced every 2 days. Early morning shower was cold, but warm enough later in the morning. Self-catering facilities are basic, but the Greek food in the restaurant is amazing so we didn't cook much anyway. Lindos and Rhodes town both worth a visit.

We stayed here from 22/7/18 until 1/8/18. Never again! It was basic, which we expected, but it was also shabby. We had room 108 and it contained a fridge, a double hot plate and a kettle. We had a leak under the sink which we reported and it still wasn't fixed by the time we left. Out of 11 days, we spent 3 by the pool as we couldn't get a bed. The other guests( who booked direct with the hotel every year) were allowed to put the towels on the beds and they were left there overnight every night! We had some meals at the hotel, they were average but the local area had better restaurants which were reasonably priced such as Rodi and Dundee's for breakfast. We have stayed in many of the Greek islands and love the people and the places but this is the worst we have encountered and sadly will not return.

Great relaxed, friendly family run hotel. Staff can't do enough for you. Huge food portions that guests often share without hesitation from the staff, they are always willing to provide you with an extra plate to do this

Visited in September for 2 weeks. Yes the accommodation is typically what you would expect in Greece in that it is quite basic but does have everything you need for a self catering holiday. To be honest we didn't use kitchen facilities apart from the fridge as the on-site restaurant served fabulous food at affordable prices - we had breakfast and dinner there most days and occasional lunch. The room was cleaned almost every day and bedding and towels changed maybe every other day. Studio was large with separate bedroom and had balconies off both lounge and bedroom. Lovely pool area with plenty of sun beds. Quite a small complex which meant on an evening you could mix with other guests and bar stayed open until whenever.......!! Met some really nice people here and holiday went far too quick. What made this holiday special is the family that run the complex - Ritsa and her mum who make fantastic food (if its not on the menu they will get it!) Andreas who mainly runs the bar and makes brill cocktails, and dad Mike who seems to do bits of all sorts and maintenance, nothing is too much trouble for any of them. It was our anniversary whilst we were there and we got complimentary lunch and dinner and heart shaped crepes with chocolate and strawberry sauce and bottle of bubbly. We absolutely loved it here and can't wait to go back next year. Don't be put off by any negatives - just go!

Just returned from 11 nights at this hotel. If you want a friendly hotel with fantastic food and a real home from home feel then i would recommend this hotel. Very clean basic rooms with two ring stove and fridge. Towels and sheets changed every couple of days. We always had hot water though as is quite usual in greece it was a hand held shower. No need to cook as Ritsa is a beautiful cook and is happy to whip up anything from a crepe to full english to authentic greek cuisine at a very good price. The pool area is very well maintained loads of beds no rushing to get your towels down and surrounded by pretty gardens it also has a splash pool for young children. Very often it felt like a private pool as we were literally the only ones there. Small bar area with pool table which was free and a little play area for toddlers. Also the hotel was very quiet and off the main road. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance all serving a variety of dishes ,all seemed okay and a similar price. Not a huge amount going on apart from a singer in one bar one night and a karaoke one night although if you wanted to you could go for a drink to one of the all inclusive hotels on the main road which have kids entertainment disco etc. We went to the barbeque at Alkmini which was a lovely way to get to know the other guests and the family,the food was amazing. The beach is an easy walk. Very quiet with a self serve bar a few sunbeds to hire a shower and toilets. Sunsets to die for and very quiet. Not the best beach as its sandy but with stones in the water but has a charm and is quite pretty. Also its quite breezy so great for kite surfing and windsurfing but not so good for paddling we spent a few days there sunbathing its very pleasant. Theres a bus into rhodes town which is an experience not to miss it does get busy but worth it id say. Theologos has about a dozen restaurants and everyone is so helpful and friendly. For a very greek experience turn right out of the hotel into the village and have a mezze at the restaurant on the corner. Never ending authentic little dishes just when you think you cant eat more they bring a massive plate of kebabs chops ribs sausages! Drinks are included too so cheap as!

Ritsa and family were lovely people nothing is too much trouble for them ,made us very welcome,would surely go back ,seems that people go back to these appartments again and again. The village is a must to visit and the food there is good value
