Gava Waterman Island Cottages

This place could be amazing if they took some feedback on board. The Staff 10/10 Food 5/10 this is where the issue lies. I could never of managed 2 weeks here. Others were going into Milna for food because they struggled to find food to eat. If they cooked less more often that would’ve helped. For their pasta the sauce was separate so the pasta was solid and the sauces had skin over the top. On the rare occasion you managed to get freshly made food it tasted really good. I tried to give the manager some advice on the pancakes but he wasn’t listening. They make them and leave them to cool down then move them into the dish to be taken and they are solid. The scrambled eggs when made properly are the best i’ve tasted, however most of the time they looked grey! Lunch and snacks were probably the best prepared food of the day. The manager wasn’t very friendly in comparison to the rest of the staff which is a shame. Rooms - it’s like they made the photos look lovely with their accessories but they were just for show. The room had no cushions, no glasses in the bathroom. The only toiletries provided was soap and i think it was shower gel. Very disappointing for 4 stars. When it came to storage there were no drawers. We had to move extra duvet covers to make space for clothes and there still wasn’t enough space. Another couple had complained about their room and were moved to a cottage. When we went to explain the photos didn’t match what we got they said all rooms were the same. That’s not true! We were told to come back the next day to see the manager but he wasn’t there. We were to go back in the afternoon but gave up as this was day 3 and we were only there for 7 days. Reception staff weren’t as friendly. Entertainment and water activities were good. Plenty of loungers and the views were amazing. The only down side was the seating in the evening. We often couldn’t get a seat. They should have more staff serving drinks at night. This is also the first time i’ve been to a 4 star and they charge for towels for your lounger. The loungers were quite uncomfortable too. Transfer - it was a long journey! The only thing I didn’t like was the ferry. You have to take your case up an escalator and then down again which isn’t particularly easy. My mum is older and felt quite anxious. It’s so busy so you can get a pile up at the bottom of the escalator so my advice is to wait till the end. Overall I wouldn’t rate this a 4 star, not the usual standard for Jet2

Fantastic location, clean, lots to do, loads of food but repetitive dishes- very little local food. Entertainment- hilarious as rarely in english- mainly in French or Italian, but OK. Children- age 14,10,10 had a fab time & we all would go again.

Lovely room, no facilities no bar apart from the pool bar, cold and poor quality food. Booked all inclusive but spent evenings eating else where also limited access to pool bar & served in plastic cups.
