Valamar Parentino Hotel

The hotel is fabulous and staff are excellent, however there is nothing at all outside of the hotel no bars no shops nothing even though jet 2 say there are bars and restaurants within a couple of kilometres. You have to catch a bus to the nearest bar or restaurant. Plus no kettles in the rooms .

Clean. Friendly staff. Good food. Really enjoyed the stay. Knocked off 1 star as the pool is too small, the hotel does have a beach area though. The pool area is usually half empty with towels on the chairs. There is signage saying this is not allowed however it's largely ignored & difficult to enforce i guess.

We had a seven day holiday mid June at the Zagreb Hotel. Check in was quick with friendly reception staff and our room on the 4th floor was very clean and comfortable, overlooking the pool area which was very nice. The pool area was clean and tidy with plenty of sun beds/parasols and towels. The hotel is only a 15 minute walk to Porec along the promenade for the shops and bars. The self service food at breakfast and dinner was excellent with plenty of choice at both meals, something for everyone with the fish and meat were freshly cooked. The croissants are excellent and desserts in the evening are amazing. The bar was good with prices about the same as here . All the staff were very pleasant, helpful and friendly. We will definitely return

great hotel have now been twice to this hotel. great service.great people. Ask the staff and you will always get satisfactory answers. Great people. Just a short walk into the town. Lovely restaurants if you want to eat out.

8 of the family went here for my husbands 60th. The hotel itself was absolutely spotless, food was excellent and staff couldn't do enough for you. It is a 10 minute walk into the town or get the little train that passes. All in all a wonderful hotel and we're booking again for next year.

This hotel was excellent in every way. No rushing down at 6 am to book a place by the pool or indeed at their beach area. This is the first hotel where everything worked as it should, when it should. The food was great

We visited the Zagreb hotel for a 10 day holiday in August. The hotel is really lovely, very clean and the staff are friendly and professional. The standard of food is excellent, freshly cooked with a good, varied choice each evening. The only issue is that there are not enough tables for the amount of guests, so the dining experience is somewhat chaotic whilst you find a table and make sure nobody either sits there too or it is cleared whilst you select your meal. I am assuming that August is peak season so it would be better at other quieter times of the year. The pool area is very nice but somewhat spoiled by selfish guests claiming beds with towels very early in the morning and then not appearing for hours. The pool was over run by children with inflatables and balls so swimming after 10am was impossible. This was peak school holiday period so again I would imagine this would not be so much of an issue outwith July and August. Porec is a lovely old town just a 15 minute stroll along the waterfront with lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. There's a couple of waterfront bars along the way if you don't want to walk into the town each day. The beach is also close and accessible and the water warm although rocky, so beach shoes are essential. Overall I would return but would avoid peak school holiday periods.

Beautiful refurbished hotel.10 minute walk into Porec Outstanding breakfast! Friendly staff.... Downside.... We had a 0630 pick up From the hotel.... Breakfast doesn't start till 0700.. Coffee or juice would be nice!

Thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Zagreb. Clean, friendly staff, beach easy to use (stones so take water shoes), bar area good, entertainment fine. Food was excellent with good choice for breakfast and dinner.

Had a lovely 10 days here. We booked a room with Jet 2 - a double room for up to 4 people. The room had a huge bed and a double camp bed. The camp bed was a squeeze for both children, one of whom is 13, so our youngest was in the huge bed with us, with plenty of room. I personally wouldn't recommend a double room for a family though, as with all our luggage, there wasn't enough storage space. Also the balcony only had table and 2 chairs. The Jet 2 site said the room we booked had a garden view. I didn't complain as we could see greenery and trees, but we were immediately over the hotel entrance with people outside smoking or being dropped off and picked up. I had requested a high floor but didn't get one. In the hotel literature I read that rooms preference is taken account of after earning a set number of points as part of the Valamar club. The food was brilliant. So much choice, and cooked fresh in front of you. Everything constantly replenished. This is 4th hotel we have stayed at in the region and food here is best of them all. One small suggestion would be to have vegetarian corner in a specific area as sometimes they would be contaminated by people using same utensils for meat and veggie dishes. Drinks always served quickly. It was relatively expensive to have water with meals, but it was available free at breakfast. It was lovely to have the option to eat outside, and not a mad fight for the tables out there as there can be in other hotels. The location is great, so easy to walk into the town along beautiful coastal path. Enough to entertain in immediate vicinity too, such as high ropes course, cycle and motorized scooter hire. Swimming pool did get a bit crowded in the afternoon, but we always got sunbeds. Handy having towel card system for beach towels. Would return but would book a family room if they do them, with a balcony overlooking the pool.

We greatly enjoyed our holiday in porec, would recommend this hotel. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Food varied, could have had more veggie and chicken dishes, and dishes more suited to Young children, but overall very good.

This is a lovely hotel. Our room was spotless,very bright. All staff were helpful and well presented. We were on the sixth floor had a lovely view of gardens and sea. There was musical night's down by the bar which were all good if you didn't want to go out.

Hotel is kept very clean, staff are friendly and welcoming. Food is good quality with lots of choice,only problem we came across was getting a table in the dining room, we tried early and late without much success. The hotel is about a 10-15 min walk into Porec all on the flat so no problem, but there is a small train runs from the bottom of the hotel grounds into town.

Excellent location. Lovely coastal walks mainly under the shade of trees. Pretty town centre and harbour. Employees work tirelessly to keep this hotel immaculate and the food varied and fresh. Huge comfortable beds. Large walk in shower. Recommended to my parents and they have also booked.

This hotel was newly refurbished to a high standard. Excellent choice of food for breakfast and the staff were extremely helpful. about a 20 min walk to the town centre. Good pool and totally relaxed attitude to getting sunbeds in the morning, no major rushes to get towels on the sunbeds. Towels provided by the hotel. The whole family had a great time.

This hotel has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. Accommodation is excellent. The food was very varied and could not be faulted. Location is excellent set amongst trees. Finally, the staff are so friendly and very helpful. Can definitely recommend
