Hipotels Hipocampo Palace

Our stay at the Hipocampo Palace was lovely and relaxing. The hotel was spotless, the food was excellent and the pool and sunbathing area were first class. The staff were very friendly, particularly the senior chefs who cooked your meat dishes to order. The location of the hotel on the edge of the resort was just what we were looking for. It was very pleasantly quiet but just a short stroll to all of the amenities the resort had to offer. Highly recommended.

Everything about the holiday was perfect, from the efficient bag-drop at Newcastle to the flight home. On both flights cabin crew were smiling and helpful, the on board choices of light food were appropriate and good value for money. Passing through Palma Airport was a breeze due to the fact that there were plenty of Jet2 staff on hand to guide us at every step. The coach to the hotel only made a few stops and when we got to our hotel bell boys were waiting to greet us, by name, and took our luggage straight to our suite. Reception staff were exceptional; they greeted us with a drink and suggested we go straight to the dining room as it was closing soon leaving the check-in formalities until after we had eaten. This level of service typified the very high standard set by the 5* Hipocampo Palace & Spa in Cala Millor; probably the best 5* star hotel in which we have stayed. The rooms and public areas are gleamingly clean, all the staff greet you with a friendly smile and 'Hole' or 'Buenos Dias' as you pass but the crowning glory was the restaurant. Amazing choices of local and international cuisine freshly cooked and exquisitely presented in surroundings which were calm and relaxing. At breakfast and dinner there are grill chefs who will cook your bacon and eggs just how you want them and at dinner the range of grilled steaks, pork, chicken, duck, lamb and venison was almost endless. Outside the swimming pool was calm and relaxing with no hint of over-exuberant kids to disturb those wishing to recline and soak up the sun. Sun loungers were always readily available and a poolside bar served refreshing drinks and light meals (including cakes and fresh fruit) from late morning to late afternoon. Waiter service was beyond compare, efficient and prompt. The indoor spa with pool and 4 Jacuzzis plus sauna, steam, and Turkish baths added to the opulence. The transfer back to the airport was on time, rapid and comfortable getting us there in good time to drop our bags and catch our on-time departure. A memorable holiday thanks to Jet2
