Grand Palladium White Island Resort & Spa

We have been staying at this hotel for a number of years and always found it to be probably the best 5 star hotel we have stayed in around Playa Den Bossa. Unfortunately they hotel has stopped giving the quality drinks and bar service of previous years, some of our party found the cocktails undrinkable where they were leaving them and paying for premium drinks which used to be included in the holiday. The room we had was classed as a superior room which although was clean and comfortable it was on the ground floor right by the entrance to the block with a bin and smoking station right outside the door, so apart from the conversation noise all hours of the day and night we constantly got strong tobacco smoke coming into the room. The staff however were fantastic and went out of their way to help with anything you asked for and the restaurant food was first class with lots of choice. The Sports bar team were also first class and very friendly again the team couldn’t do enough for you. For us we may give it another try next year as the location suits our needs so we shall see.

Things I loved about this hotel; safe and secure, the only access from outside is right past the reception and all the communal areas were on a lower ground floor, felt safe for the children to have a bit of freedom even in the evenings. The food was fabulous, loads of choice and lots of staples for fussy kids. The 2 special restaurants were still buffet but a nice change of food steak/grill style or oriental, both were great. So clean, always saw someone cleaning something, wiping down the pirate ship play area one day! Everywhere was immaculate. Pools were also clean, I saw them regularly checking the levels, they brought more sunbeds out as the hotel got busier, it was never a fight for beds and we were there at end of July. The lifeguard was amazing, he managed 2 pools at once and i saw him spot things on a few occasions he was brilliant. The staff, all so lovely, so helpful and just excellent service, the manager was ever present around the hotel, even showing us to a table in the restaurant at times, this guy led from among the troops and he knew everything that went on. My son banged his head in the bathroom one day and I ran to reception to see about an ice pack, they suggested ice was brought up to the room but I said I'll be quicker running to the bar. About 1 minute after I got back to the room the hotel manager and lifeguard with first aid kit were at the room to check on him and offer first aid advice, I was so impressed and appreciated the advice which was simple but you need reminding in the moment sometimes. The entertainment was not pushy during the day but always available around the pool areas, kids loved the shows at night and the guest singers on the terrace in the evening I thought was really nice, very chilled. Drinks were great, named spirits or really good ones, and even mixers (Gordon's and shweppes being a favourite), location is good for a short walk to the best beach but it's a lot of steps so you need to be prepared for that in the heat we only went once though as the hotel was just so nice, we didn't feel a need to leave. Room walls are thick, never heard anyone else in the hotel! Would recommend a pool view room as this was lovely at night. We had a late check-out out but didn't ask to keep a room as they have a case storage and lots of nice showers in different areas/toilets that we didn't need to keep a room. One nt there was a lovely fair for the kids with games, bouncy castle, popcorn, candy floss etc. I could go on....

Pros : close to the airport; food in buffet restaurant good selection. Staff friendly. Cons : Room small & very cheaply decorated - certainly not 5* quality. Safety Deposit Box didn't work for 5 days we were there, despite "being fixed". Couldn't get into ONE speciality restaurant. You had to get up at the crack of dawn to queue for Guest Services in order to get a reservation in one of the speciality restaurants! You had to get up at ridiculous o'clock to find a sunbed and saw said sunbeds with towels on at 2pm still with no-one on them!! Corridor carpets were filthy.

It was our 5th wedding anniversary and we tried this hotel for the first time based on location and reviews. Checking in was fine, as requested our room was decorated with roses, flowers and balloons, it was so beautiful. We made a reservation at Palazoo (Italian restaurant) for 9pm but we didn't get there until 9.50pm. The restaurant shuts at 10pm, but to our surprise we were accepted after we explained that our flight was delayed. We were greeted very warmly by the staff who all went out of their way to make our special evening very pleasant. Bubbly was poured out to us upon arrival and at the end, sparkling candles over a delicious plate of fruits. Food was fresh and delicious. This was definitely a great way to begin our holiday, thanks to all the staff at the palazzo. We only stayed 3 nights from Thurs, but each day was amazing. Staff we super nice, helpful and friendly. Bars were well staffed, no long queues. Great choice of drinks and opend until 1am. Excellent location, close to 3 beaches within walking distance and another 2 by 20mins drive. Make sure you book a table at a daily restaurant, all 3 restaurants served really food good. Not many seafood options, but food on the menu are tasty. Pool area was clean and not overly crowded.

We found the service was really good the food was great quality and always something you liked , swimming pools were great , special mention to Chris at the sports bar he provided excellent service and great chats

This hotel is good. Food lovely, place clean. Minus, we chose end of school holiday break and was swarming with kids ( some not the best behaved) Could not get into any A La Carte resurants as had to pre book and people were gertting up at 8.00am to do so! Buffet resturant, food was fine. Lots of sun bed reserving ( some reverved for a whole day and went unused till after lunch) but there were plenty of beds, so we always found somewhere. This a good 4 four star hotel not a five star Luxe ! I would never visit in school holidays again !

The hotel is very isolated , if you like to sight see then you definitely need a car, if you like to just stay by the pool all day this is the place to go, you can at least watch the aeroplane coming into land as they are very low over the resort.

Me and my 2 friends stayed in this lovely hotel. Staff were helpful with smile all the time. Food were great and had a theme every night. Because we had chosen the all inclusive package, it was all worth it. Room was really good, cleaned everyday and bed was so comfy. All in all, we had no complain.

Room, facilities, food and staff all excellent. The only blots were a lack of atmosphere when we went to the Italian Al la Carte restaurant and the exercise bikes in the gym were in serious need of attention, most could not be adjusted because the seatposts were jammed

We stayed here in August with friends and were immediately disappointed when we found out we were not staying in White Island. The hotel although nothing wrong with it is very small and you feel almost on top of each other around the pool and during breakfast lunch and dinner. The hotel has the look and feel of an after-thought or over-spill from the main hotel.

Everything was perfect....Location, food,quality, entertainment,rooms, staff....No complaints from us! Nothing was too much trouble. Had a fantastic evening in the Italian, the guy making the pizzas was great to watch, what a talent.Then we had a magician come to our table, I dont really enjoy magic but he was something else!
