Alkan Hotel

This was a last minute holiday and as we haven’t been away for several years we had to make the most out of a bad thing. We looked at the reviews too before booking and looking at the mixed reviews we gave it the benefit of the doubt. We arrived late evening and after booking in we got to the room on the first floor, within 5 minutes of being in the room the power went off, 45 minutes later after speaking to the gentleman on the reception for the second time was back on.The room was small and the wall between the other room was that thin we could here them just talking. The balcony was over the main entrance of the hotel, it had two chairs and a table but you had to move the chair and table so you could sit down on the other chair. There was a very low joist next to the door which had a warning sign on it. In the morning we asked to change rooms which we did at an extra cost of £5 a night. The Jet2 brochure show a very nice 3 star plus hotel but we fount out that a few years ago the first floor was the restaurant and they had moved and made the restaurant smaller down stair next to the reception and lounge area. The old restaurant was made into more rooms which was had been in first. The breakfast we never saw bacon the beans was warm, evening meals was okay but alway similar choices. Pool was good and the people working there was as helpful as they can. The location for us was great. Would I go back NO this is not a 3 star plus more like a 2 star at most. Ho would also like to say that the Jet2 representative was nonexistent, we was there a week and we didn’t see her until the afternoon we was going home.

Location was great We booked a bed and breakfast , You could get a much better breakfast out and about with great service. No tea or coffe making facilities in our room . this was aweful On arrival toilet was not flushing , TV in room was not working The following morning the shower was blocked . We asked for an iron to sort some of our clothes out , The reply was "Sorry this service was not available Would not recomend this hotel .. There are much better hotels im Marmaris for the same price .

Hotel overall was great. Staff where really friendly and nice people. Shout out to the younger guy who serves at the bar, he was hilarious and joined in with laughs with us. Would recommend as a hotel if going with family or friends.

5th time at the Alkan and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Rooms are clean and staff are friendly. Air conditioning is included and shower water pressure is great. Fantastic location with lots of shops, bars and restaurants on your door step. Carlo’s restaurant is located underneath the hotel. By far the best place to eat in Marmaris. We ate here several times and never had a bad meal.

Excellent location, friendly helpful staff, nice quiet pool area, nice quiet hotel. Rooms dated, but are in the process of being updated, nothing too much trouble for the staff. I have been using this hotel twice a year for the past 10 years.

alken hotel this is a 2* not 3*plus hotel is not as clean as the photos show on the outside could do with a good paint. rooms need update balcony glass all broken not to safe for kids. no kettle if you like a cuppa in your room i lent one from one of the bars .pool small with smaller kids pool bar by the pool with very good service.all hotel staff very good. cleaners in every day.less than 5 mins to the beach and the main strip. approx 1 mile to the main town harbour. loads of shops wright by hotel. fire at the hotel while we were there. think it was the kitchin. fire engines came. aloud back in after an hour or so

After 18 years of visiting Marmaris we found the Alkan 3 years ago. Clean, friendly and spacious rooms. Great secluded pool area where everyone enjoys themselves. The staff are wonderful and can't do enough for you, even the manager is always there to help.

2nd time at the Alkan. We love this hotel! Clean, spacious rooms with large balconies. The staff are all very nice especially JJ at the pool bar. Rooms have air-conditioning and fridge. Pool is a decent size and kept immaculate. Loads of loungers available. See you again in September! x
