4R Playa Park Hotel

I have just returned home from my first time in the area so chose this hotel as I didn't want to be in a busy part of Salou but within walking distance. 4R Playa Park fitted the bill. Location is very close to three small beaches and a bit further say 15 minutes walk to Salou main beach. It is on a hill which means great views. Even though I hadn't booked a sea view it could still be seen. Room 448. As I have mild COPD I worried that I would struggle on the hills but I would call them slopes and no problem to me at all. The hotel was spacious and very clean with lots of different areas for sitting, watching TV etc. Our bedroom was nicely decorated and roomy. Comfortable beds. Good sized bathroom including bidet. Towels changed daily. Fridge which cost 25euro but that included several bottles of water, juice and cans of pop. As we had half board we used the restaurant twice daily. We were very impressed with the great variety of choice at breakfast and dinner. Do not be swayed by grumblers as the standard of food was high all cooked fresh. The chefs and waiting staff were always impeccably dressed. The only grumble I have is not aimed at the hotel but at some fellow greedy guestsw would fill their plates with anything and everything only to leave it. Such a waste. There was entertainment nightly in the bar which I believe is poolside in high season. I won't give anything away but we were very impressed with the high standard of acts. Also there was a children's club which seemed to be very popular with the tinies. There are two swimming pools. The main one being outside the bar area with lots of sunbeds and the second smaller one at the back near the crazy golf. It is called the quiet pool but we didn't find it so as some families chose it over the main one. It has got lawns and trees which is very nice and shadey. I would recommend this hotel for a comfortable quiet holiday with easy access to a full on nightlife if wanted.

We stayed in this hotel in August 2018, we’ve kept meaning to post a review and time ran away...We just wanted to say a huge thank you to the staff; reception, restaurant, bar, maids and entertainers, who really made our holiday a special one to remember.We are a family of four, with two children (13 and 4), and we found this hotel has so much to offer, especially with its location; very close to the beach and the Portaventura theme park being only a walk away.We found all the staff go out of there way to make your holiday, the cleaners around the hotel were extremely friendly and the cleanliness was exceptional throughout the hotel and in our room. The entertainment team (Victor, Filipe, Bea and Chantalle ) made a huge effort getting everyone involved, both throughout the day and in the evening. Our four year old daughter loved to dance at the mini disco.The restaurant staff were also very friendly, making a lovely effort with us both in the morning and evening, the female maitre d especially. Nice short airport transfer.

Very good clean hotel, facilities and rooms are very nice. The shower in bathroom is the best I've ever had. Service was great staff very friendly. Meals were good, evening meals had plenty of choice and roast available. Breakfasts were OK bit less to choose but always something to have. Only gripe was kids darting about dining room, but that's a parent issue not hotel. Great location for us, bit hilly if your less agile. Would have no problem returning to this hotel.

We arrived at 4R playa park Salou hotel and was greeted by friendly staff at reception and was given our room key no.525 and we were so pleased with the accommodation and the cleanliness of our room, We had lovely sea views which was lovely to wake up to. All the buffet food was also nice with plenty to choose from. All the staff at this hotel was so friendly and made us feel so welcome would go back there 100% and probably will in the next couple of years.

Spent 2 weeks in 4R playa park hotel at end of July, all staff were very friendly especially the lady who cleaned our rooms and also drinks waiters who remembered what we ordered before even asking. Good choice at meal times with something for everyone, only problem was other guests pushing in front with no respect to others but hotel cannot be blamed for their guests behaviour. Overall we had a very enjoyable 2 weeks

superb have been to this hotel many times, staff excellent, good entertainment, food excellent, rooms recently refurbished to a high standard; note that the hotel is at top of a hill, at our age now we walk down and get bus back, so mush easier, was not a problem 10 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pool area very poor. Hardly gets sun during day so if you likje to sunbathe then its not good. Water in pool very cold even in August, probably due to lack oif sun. Food very poor. Very repetitive with not a lot of choice Would not return.

great location close to lovely beaches. very clean . friendly staff. we thought the food was very good and the deserts were great .our teenage boys loved it. the entertainment suited all ages and the young entertainment staff were brilliant. activities around and in the pool were very good eg.water volley ball , mini Olympics and snorkelling. plenty of sun beds and lovely quiet area at the back of the hotel with crazygolf and table tennis. drinks including coffee and tea were very reasonable. this was the best holiday experience we have had abroad . would definitely recommend this hotel and salou.

The hotel was clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The food was of a high standard, and the entertainment staff were great fun. Apart from being on top of a hill, which was a bit hard on the legs it was great.

The best I'd rate the hotel is average i.e. no better or worse than the other hotels of similar rating in the area however what swung it to a negative for me as the poor experience with the bar service. When my child (10) informed the bar manager 'Jesus' that his money was stuck in the pool table he made a cry baby gesture to him. On another occasion when my son used his toy shock toy to play tricks on people he took his toy off of him. My son has Aspergers (which isn't a visible disability) and didn't react well to either of these incidents. I was furious and when I reported it to management the best they could do is say "he was just joking - he didn't know your son has Aspergers". This is no excuse!
