On arrival we were warmly greeted by reception who gave us a choice of rooms. We had a pool view on the 10th floor and the room had plenty of space and a lovely bathroom. My wife has a mobility scooter and they allowed her to use this in the hotel, however they don’t allow rented scooters in the hotel so it’s best you bring your own. Restaurant is located on the lowest floor and the food was very nice, with fresh food daily. They also grilled meat daily. We had to upgrade to the branded drinks package which was €6 per day each. Well worth it if you consider the local spirits are not very nice. The beer tasted lovely, however I suspect it is low alcohol beer as I drank these all day with no effects. Overall a pleasant holiday and I would go back.

I look for all inclusive hotels with a beach. This place didn't disappoint. The reason we look for a beach is because often these hotels have cramped and busy/noisy conditions around the hotel pool. This was no exception so we stuck to the beach. Fortunately the hotel has a gate you can go through directly to the beach down sone steps which means it's a short walk from the beach back to the pool bar for daytime drinks. They use plastic third of a pint cups so I got two each time for beer (max drink limit per person per order) and the wife had vodka and mixers or the cocktail of day for all inclusive guests. The all inclusive works by them taking your photo when you arrive then they give you a card like a credit card size and you have that over with every order you make. Your photo appears on their till screens. It's also required for breakfast but not lunch and dinner as they give you a separate piece of paper for that with a barcode on. Not sure why. The food is fantastic and lots of it. Will say though that the restaurant does get busy all the time and the tables are quite close together. If you got busy times there can be a queue just to get in, but listen out for numbers as they do sometimes have a 2 person table available which men's you get to jump ahead of all the large family groups waiting. Queue goods down quick though, the staff are phenomenally fast there and at the bars.

Generally very good. We had a large bedroom with a sea view which was worth paying extra for it was cleaned daily and the beds made up. It had a fridge and air on both were very useful. The hotel was clean fairly modern and situated beside a coarse sandy beach. The Starr were brilliant and made the holiday. The pool was adequate and the adjacent beach took numbers away from the pool. The restaurant was the one chink in the armour it didn’t cope at peak times, the food was not always warm and there were long queues blocking isles used by people to get back to their table with food. The selection of food was mainly snacks or nibbles. There was an area on the left as you entered the restaurant where a chef cooked fish meat and chicken so it was hot and the best place to start filling your plate. The black premium all inclusive card was a poor second ro the gold all inclusive card. With the black card you were limited to drinking any drink from a plastic shots glass, you couldnt get a bottle of wine or water unless you wanted to pay extra. To get a jug of sangria you had to pay an extra €7 or a cocktail an extra €4. Cocktails were non alcoholic with the black all inclusive card!!

The location of this hotel is good and the staff try to make the best of things but this hotel is dirty and needs a full deep clean the food is cold and undercooked with no variety and not in line with English expectations everything is in need of total refurbishment we often go back to hotels that we have visited but we could never contemplate this in relation to Calete Palace

Hotel Caleta Palace Plaja d Aro Costa Brava All inclusive. Food was very good ,a great selection for everybody,s different tastes and plenty of it, dishes were replaced frequently and most times were nice and hot. Fresh cooked eggs and pancakes at breakfast time.Bottle of wine with your meal if all inclusive, Red Rose, or White and was very nice. Staff were very nice and most times we didn't have to queue to get in the dining room. On saying this the dining room was very fast moving and noisy as most were family,s and large groups of older school children.Coming from UK we were a minority in the hotel , most people were French. This didn't bother us at all, but it might some other people. The. Room was clean, and beds were comfortable , room was cleaned and made up daily, staff very nice. But the decor was very poor, slap dash paint work, very poor in need of referbishment. Pool was clean . But sun loungers were reserved with towels even though they were not supossed to be, we never managed to get a sun lounger all holiday, their wax notices all over to say not to reserve sun loungers with towels as they will be removed after 15 mins, but this never happened while we were there for 11 days. We did manage to get a sun lounger on the last day but it was on the terrace nr the pool bar and the floor was crawling with ants, the floor of the terrace was crumbling and needed to be repaired and cleaned. We. Didn't stay as ants were crawling on the sun lounger .The tables on the terrace were sticky with drink. Shame as this was the only thing that let the cleanliness of the hotel down. There was only a few sun umberelas , they definitely need more. The staff on the bar work really hard , but their needs to be more of them, as their were long queues in the evening. Nobody likes to qeue ,especially on a holiday. Drink selection was very good and you could get a real coffee made to order . Location could not be better just on the edge of town to walk in if you wanted to, and the hotel was next to a lovely clean beach, Exelent ! Over all this was a good holiday, just some little things the hotel needs to work on. Like making the dining room a little less noisy, scraping and banging plates is not a nice experience while you are eating, I feel this should done off the dining room floor, just my suggestion . And getting the su bed situation sorted, this I know isn't easy. Went as a couple ,birthday treat holiday.
