The Vine

Excellent hotel giving me all I need for a summer holiday. Not a traditional ‘Brits abroad’ type of place. Comfortable rooms (it was our second visit). The pool area on the roof has fabulous views over the sea and all of Funchal . It is fairly quiet, comfortable and the bar staff are great. The breakfasts are good but best of all was meeting ‘Bella’ the robot. She really for everyone smiling at the start of the day.

Lovely hotel from outward appearances. However, lots of quirky things - very poor lighting throughout, even in the lift. Room lights difficult to use. Floor lights came on at night if you get out of bed - waking partner. Little privacy in the wc - smoked glass doors, no soundproofing. Bath in the open room separated by glass screen. However, we had a lovely dinner on the roof top terrace, and the pool was excellent.

Great hotel with lovely roof top pool and bar. We had a nice view across the old town from our room. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and the location is great for everything. Breakfast is great.

I honestly can’t fault this hotel. Ideal location. Good breakfast buffet with good service. Knowledgeable reception staff. Great rooftop terrace and bar. We had a spacious bedroom on the fourth floor. Yep, the light switch options/combinations were interesting but we soon got the hang of it...ish. I wish I could’ve taken the waterfall shower back home with us.

This 5 star experience was excellent from start to finish and certainly lived up to the rating given, All of the staff were professional, polite, friendly and helpful during the whole of the duration of our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. Well done to everyone for providing us with such a wonderful relaxing week.

Me and my girlfriend spent a week at the vine hotel it is a beautiful hotel the decor throughout was outstanding staff couldn't be more helpful if they tried. We both also had special dietary requirements which we let them know about before we arrived and they went above and beyond to cater for that by ensuring we had breakfast and also creating two off menu 4 course vegan meals which were lovely ! Fantastic location overall beautiful hotel, friendly and very service oriented would definitely stay here again. It's more of a boutique stylish 5 star hotel so if you prefer more traditional then maybe this isn't for you but for us - No faults at all. Excellent thank you for having us.

Superb hotel - excellent service from really helpful friendly staff from the moment we got to reception until we got into the lift to leave. We were half board and food in restaurant excellent. Pool area beautiful with tremendous views. Room was exceptional especially the auto lights under the bed when you get up through the night! Reception area has hidden gems - go find them.

My husband and I are just back from a weeks stay in The Vine Hotel - what can I say. fantastic hotel, great location and extremely friendly and attentive staff. We had the Grand De Luxe Suite which was amazing - views not great but who cares! The room was MASSIVE, we had two leather loungers in the room, free standing bath, double shower, separate toilet, king size bed - just pure luxury. The mini fridge was full on arrival and was FREE for the 1st use then if you wanted anything else you had to pay. Chocolates on pillow at bedtime, duvet folded over and mat placed at both bed sides. Bathrobes & slippers supplied as was the beach towels. Bedding and twoels changed as often as you asked for them to be changes. Nothing was too much trouble. Shower Gel, Body Lotion, ear buds, cotton pads, shower cap all supplied too. We needed a sewing kit whislt we where there again no problem at all. We stayed B&B and the last sitting for breakfast was 1030am - Prosecco for Breakfast - Yes please , Full English & Continental available - you could eat all morning if you wish. Would definitely recommend this Hotel. Charles on Reception was a star.
