Dom Pedro Lagos

Dom Pedro Lagos is perfect for us,The cleanliness of the rooms,the location and the friendliness of the staff is second to none,which is why we will be returning for the fourth time next visit.

The whole experience at the Dom Pedro at Maia Praia Lagos was enjoyable.The rooms were more than adequate,clean and comfortable.The staff were very helpful and accommodating.The location is amazing.Couldn’t fault anything about it .Will be booking again for next year

We had already been to this resort and hotel before so had some knowledge of where to dine and shop (being self catering). The hotel and staff are very accommodating the rooms in our apartment large and airy ,air conditioning good and necessary it was very hot the massive and gorgeous beach is just across the road very sandy . Sun shade and beds overpriced but beach is soft and sandy and nice to lie on with a towel anyway. Restaurants are in the marina or centro and lots of choice ,it’s a long walk so catching the little train right outside the hotel is a plus and cheap .This holiday ranked as one of our best thanks to the staff of jet2 and the fabulous weather really recommend the Dom Pedro hotel as well .S

Wonderful place to stay. Very Clean, staff very helpful, pool wonderful and guaranteed a Sun Bed every day. Great value for money, everywhere we ate was excellent value and the service and professionalism of staff was first class.

This hotel is ideal if you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday. The hotel is ideally situated for the beach which is a two minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is extremely quiet during the day and the evening. There is no entertainment at all so if you are looking for something to do in the evening then you would need to go into Lagos. We had a lovely week here and would go back to Portugal again. Most evenings we walked along the beach in Lagos which is approximately a 30 minute leisurely stroll with a couple of beach bars en route. There is a convenient taxi rank in Lagos near the town square where taxis are readily available for around 6 Euros back to the hotel in the evening. There are no shops near the hotel so if you are planning to go self catering you need to go into Lagos for all of your supplies except water which you can buy at the hotel. This is quite expensive at the hotel €2.00 for 1.5 litre bottle which you can purchase in Lagos for around €0.45. The studio apartment we had did not have air conditioning which I think could be a problem in the high season. There is a safe available for a small charge. The staff were all very polite and helpful. The room was cleaned every day and we had fresh towels every day. We had a toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment and a two ring electric hob, no oven but this wasn't a problem as we only had breakfast in the apartment. We never had a problem with sun loungers, there were always plenty available. The pool is lovey and you get the sun on the pool area all day. The pool was cleaned every morning. The restaurant attached but not part of the hotel is quite expensive, the food is middle of the range and not of a wide variety. There is a nice beach bar across from the hotel which is of an average price with really nice lunchtime menu, you can hire two sun loungers & parasol for €12.00 per day from the bar and they have plenty of water-sports activities for a fee. If you are planning a day on the beach you will need a parasol. There is a market stall in the car park opposite the hotel where you can purchase, parasols, windbreakers, hats, towels, shorts, dresses etc for the beach. There are lots of restaurants in Lagos and around the marina area which is well worth a visit.

lovely quiet hotel with friendly staff. accommodation adequate with very comfortable beds. very clean. only one downside for us was the poor quality of the wifi which was only available in the lobby and was so slow..

The rooms were clean & tidy & regularly serviced. The bar area in the hotel was not exactly conducive to drinking & meeting people but then it was an apartment block. The grounds were well maintained with plenty of sunbeds & the staff were very helpful. The location was ideal for a quiet holiday with easy access to a beautiful beach. It was a 20 minute walk to Lagos which was easily done.

On a positive it's clean although basic. which was ok. its a good 15/20 minute walk to any bar or shop or train station or into lagos itself. do not be fooled you are not in lagos you are on the outskirts. so if you like walking it's great or hire a car at yr peril. They drive like maniacs so we didn't risk it. Only attractions in lagos a wax museum and a zoo. The train was our saviour as the weather wasn't the best. its a bit smelly on the train but cheap €4 return to portimao. ..I recommend this resort it's got some life unlike lagos. albufeira also worth a visit. The staff at the hotel unhelpful. uninterested and we're just there. facilities are non existent unless you want to live in the reception area as that's the only wifi or satellite TV. The beach over the road and train track is stunning but we didn't get to benefit as weather to poor unfortunately. would we return........NO. This is 2* accommodation at best. unfriendly and a bit dismal out in the sticks.
