Pula is a haven for history buffs, with its Roman heritage still shining through in the 21st century. Dating back to its time as a major strategic port, the city is home to a famous amphitheatre, while you’ll also get the chance to see the remains of ancient temples and arches.
Ideal for romantic getaways, Pula and Verudela offer relaxing beaches and a glimpse of the ancient world. Just south of Pula, the Verudela peninsula offers sandy coves and peaceful forests which are perfect for quiet walks. Or check out Istralandia waterpark and Rovinj and Porec aquariums, which are great for energetic kids.

It was originally built to host gladiator contests, and is still used as an entertainment spot, regularly hosting concerts with big-name acts. You can walk amongst the ruins, dress up in Roman attire and of course, have a novelty photo taken.
