Whether it’s strolling along the pretty promenade, taking a dip in the crystal-clear waters or munching on freshly cooked seafood, there’s plenty to do down by the water here in Mgarr. You might even catch the local farmers taking their horses for a cooling swim in the sea!
The parish church is famous for its unusual egg-shaped dome – you can’t miss it, it’s right in the heart of the town! It’s also home to some of the oldest places of worship in the world, the Skorba temples. They date all the way back to the Neolithic period.
Mgarr (Gozo), Malta and Gozo
This is the ultimate spot for a memorable dining experience! The menu is a tasty mix of Mediterranean flavours, from fresh seafood to creative dishes, all served in a relaxed yet stylish seafront setting. The best bit? Each dish is crafted using ingredients sourced from local fishermen and farmers wherever possible.
Malta and Gozo
Duke Shopping Mall in the heart of Gozo is a one-stop shop. You’ll find everything from branded clothing to homewares and a wellbeing centre. The Food Store has a delicatessen with all you’ll need to pack a delicious picnic if you’re planning a day out or you can eat in at the cafeteria.

Dwejra Tower was built in 1652 to defend the coast and was armed with cannons and guns. It was restored in 1999. It is open when the flag is flying and free to enter. The climb up to the tower is fairly steep, but the amazing views from the roof are worth it. There is a short video and a guide to answer questions.
