The neighbouring islands of Skiathos and Skopelos couldn’t be easier to get to, with ferries and boat trips regularly sailing between the three. Visit a Mamma Mia! filming location when you step onto the dreamy shores of Skopelos or bob in and out of shops and bars in Skiathos Town’s bustling waterfront area.
Bit of a beach bum? You’ve come to the right place. From pebbled shores to sandy stretches, you’re bound to find your ideal sunbathing spot. Chrisi Milia Beach is one of the most popular on the island, with gently shelving sand and calm turquoise water. Plonk yourself down on the golden grains and get stuck into a good book
Want to get out and explore the island? Take your pick from stunning hikes, boat trips, water sports and more. The National Marine Park Alonissos is a great place to start for wildlife spotting. Think dolphins, turtles and whales. If you’d prefer to stay on dry land, there’s a picturesque, cobbled trail up to the old capital of the island, Hora, which is not to be missed!
Alonissos
Curving around a horseshoe bay, Agios Dimitrios Beach is one of Alonissos’ best. Set down on this pebbly patch and enjoy views across the aquamarine water to nearby isles. There are sunbeds for hire and if you’re hungry, tavernas right by the shore.
Alonissos
This serene spot was made for those lazy beach days. It’s quite a small bay but it’s relatively unknown so rarely gets crowded! The white rocks that back the beach complement the turquoise ocean and biscuity shore perfectly. Grab a magazine and your sunnies, you’ll not want to leave this place!
Alonissos
Discover the natural beauty of Alonissos National Marine Park, the largest marine protected area in Europe! From Patitiri, jump aboard a boat and cruise around the island’s turquoise waters, keeping your eyes peeled for dolphins, turtles and the rarely spotted monk seal. There's a small charge to enter, but everything goes towards the conservation of the park!
