Essential Information
When you open an email from us, visit our website or one of our Apps (together our "websites"), we use standard technology to collect information which includes, how the website is used, the type of device or computer you are using, your IP address, approximate location and, where applicable, the time it took to read the information.
This information is gathered through “Cookies”, web beacons or similar technologies.
Cookies are small files of letters and numbers that we put on your computer's hard drive. These small files allow us to distinguish you from other users of our websites, monitor website traffic and to personalise the content of the site for you. This ultimately helps us provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and allows us to improve our site going forward.
You can decide to disable your cookies but please be aware that certain cookies are absolutely necessary to let you do everything you want to on our websites. Disabling some other cookies will however have little impact on your experience but there may be some limitations – for example, you won’t be able to share content. It may also affect your experience on other websites. For more information on the different types of cookies we use please see detailed information below.
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around the website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas of the website. Without these cookies services you have asked for, like shopping baskets or e-billing, cannot be provided.
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work.
Functional Cookies
These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation (such as “remember me”). They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages
Performance Cookies
These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. These cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. The cookies may also collect IP address and generate a device ID when you enter the site, to allow the service to provide relevant information and services, however this data is only provided to Jet2.com and Jet2holidays at an aggregated level. The use of the data from the Performance Cookies is used to improve how our website and marketing works.

We do not collect or use any identifiable personal data in relation to this analysis and only use information that is captured in an aggregated form for statistical monitoring and reporting.
We may also collect IP address, AS Number, device ID and data about usage activity through our own first-party cookies or similar technologies to help prevent and detect fraudulent or anomalous activity on our website or apps. This includes the activity which records show us involve use of a site or app by automated bots who are not human users.
Where we identify inappropriate activity through this tooling we reserve the right to block traffic to our sites.
Targeting/Advertising Cookies
These cookies are used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. They are usually placed by advertising networks with the website operator’s permission. They remember that you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organisations such as advertisers. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. Quite often targeting or advertising cookies will be linked to advertising functionality provided by the other organisation.
Criteo is one of the third parties that we use to help us advertise by placing banners on various internet sites. Criteo places Cookies to help us measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign and see how many users have clicked on a particular advert. Criteo may also use Cookies to display relevant offers (such as recommendations of products that you might be interested in) when you visit other websites. Please click here to visit the Criteo privacy policy (although please note that we cannot responsible for any content or use of a third party website).

Session Cookies are temporary and allow our site to link your actions during a browser session. They may be used for a variety of purposes such as remembering what you have put in your ticket basket as you browse around our site. These Session Cookies expire after a browser session.
Whether a Cookie is ‘first’ or ‘third’ party refers to the website or domain placing the Cookie.
First Party Cookies, in basic terms, are Cookies set by the website you have visited - the website displayed in the URL window.
Third Party Cookies are Cookies that are set by a domain other than the one you are visiting. If you visit a website and a separate company sets a Cookie through that website then this would be a Third party Cookie.
